Morgan State University’s School of Education and Urban Studies recognized several faculty in the School of Education and Urban Studies with the 1879 Award for Faculty Excellence. Morgan State University was founded in 1867 as Centenary Biblical Institute and trained men to enter the ministry. In 1879, the trustees of Centenary Biblical Institute amended its charter to admit women and train men and women to enter the teaching profession. Education is Morgan State University’s second oldest program, and today’s award recipients carry on the legacy of the institution’s earliest trustees and students’ commitment to education. NCEED was delighted that our team members received awards for faculty excellence for distinguished contribution during the 2024-2025 academic year from Dr. Tracy Rone, Assistant Dean for Research and Community Partnerships, and Dean Glenda Prime of the School of Education and Urban Studies. Great teamwork!
