MFN is dedicated to advocating and promoting a robust system of quality child care, early education, and family support.
MFN is a private, non-profit organization with a strong track record of taking action on issues affecting the children, families, and childcare community in the state. It was established in 2009 through the merger of two prominent non-profit organizations: the Maryland Committee for Children, which was founded in 1945 to advocate for high-quality child care, and Friends of the Family, founded in 1986 to manage Maryland’s network of Family Support Centers.
The mission of Maryland Family Network is to ensure that young children have access to strong families, high-quality early learning environments, and advocates for their interests. The organization is building a relationship with Morgan’s School of Education and Urban Studies. Walter Fields, NCEED Community Engagement and Public Policy Liaison, is honored to attend and speak at the event.
