On Saturday, March 29, NCEED research faculty member Dr. Elizabeth Holliday Morgan participated in a panel discussion on autism acceptance and advocacy for families enrolled in the Fostering Advocacy, Communication, Empowerment & Support (FACES) program in Baltimore, Maryland.

FACES is a five-week training program designed to increase knowledge, advocacyskills, and empowerment among underrepresented parents of children on the autism spectrum. Based at North Carolina State University, the program has served more than 200 families since its launch in 2019.

During the panel, Dr. Morgan shared insights on how families can build their advocacy skills and support one another—an approach grounded in her research on advocacy development among Black families of children with developmental disabilities.
