Dr. Meria Carstarphen, Director of NCEED, gave welcome remarks at the October 28 Maryland Cultural Proficiency Conference opening plenary, held at the MSU Student Center. This annual event, now in its 10th year, was themed “Meeting the Moment: Together in Solidarity and Community.” This milestone event brought together educators, leaders, and community members to deepen understanding and practice of cultural proficiency, build solidarity, and strengthen connections. Dr. Glenda Prime, Dean of The School of Education and Urban Studies at MSU, and Assistant Dean Tracey Rhone, were also in attendance at this important convening.
