NCEED is pleased to partner this year with the Women of Color Education Collaborative (WOCEC). Together, NCEED and WoCEC are collaborating to address three critical challenges: expanding access to diverse educator talent; strengthening the implementation of educator diversity initiatives; creating opportunities for additional research and scholarly publications.
By leveraging their complementary strengths and shared commitment to equity, WOCEC and NCEED will drive meaningful progress in advancing educator diversity. WOCEC brings deep expertise in K-12 education, mentoring, coaching, community-building, and research to advocate for the positive impact of diverse educators on academic achievement and equity, while NCEED offers a robust foundation in policy, practice, and systemic change.
For further information regarding WOCEC’s impact, please read their most recent report, From Cultural Wealth to Systems Change: Assessing the Impact of WOCEC’s Leadership Development Program. This comprehensive mixed-methods evaluation of WOCEC’s leadership development model was conducted as part of a Vanderbilt University doctoral capstone project. The study was designed to examine the effectiveness of WOCEC’s programming in strengthening leadership capacity and supporting the professional growth of women of color in education.
