NCEED’s Walter Fields attended the Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys Convocation on October 24. The school is the only public, all-male school in the state of Maryland. The Convocation is a ceremony where the boys receive school neckties to signify their elevation to “Collegiate Gentlemen.” Fathers and father figures assist the boys tying their neckties. Baltimore Collegiate has been hosted by NCEED twice during campus visits, and Mr. Fields has visited the school to speak to students. Teacher Mario Dofat (1st photo) has worked with Mr. Fields to connect NCEED to the school. Fields is now working with the school’s CEO Edward Avent on a formal partnership between NCEED and Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys. This work also falls under Mr. Fields’ participation on Morgan State’s Task Force on Black Male Enrollment.
