Rondall E. Allen, B.S., Pharm.D., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) asked Program Director and NCEED Assistant Director Darryl Williams, Ed.D.  to lead a two half-day workshop for 12 UMES Faculty Fellows on Feb 6 and 7 on the  beautiful campus of UMES in Princess Anne, Maryland.  The Provost Faculty Fellows program is designed to provide leadership and administrative experience for faculty members and participate in many activities and workshops including a capstone project. These 12 Fellows represented many departments, offices and positions.  They each shared their goals and aspirations as current or aspiring leaders.

Dr. Darryl Williams focused on leadership theory, team dynamics, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and conflict resolution.  This hands-on workshop mixed theory with application and provided the fellows to self assess and sharpen their leadership skills.  Faculty Fellows shared that they appreciated the hands-on group work, engaging discussions, and opportunities to share their perspectives and experiences. They also valued the coaching, instruction and techniques provided, along with the interactive activities, small group discussions, the problem of practice activity, and the safe space to explore ideas. Provost Faculty Fellows Program | Division of Academic Affairs
